However, let us take a moment and look at it objectively. You have decided to travel, and to travel outside your country of origin at that. You are going to take a plane to get from point a to point b. Your trip is going to be a lengthy one and every moment you are on that plane, you are susceptible to all the germs flying around in the air. Your plane lands and your vacation begins.
A few days later you start feeling ill. What are you going to do? The uneasy feeling gets worse and you are really sick. You need medical attention. You call around and price the local medical care and realize you really can not afford it so you put it off. You continue to be sick on your trip. The day before you are scheduled to leave for home, your illness gets to the point you pass out and are taken by ambulance to the local hospital where you are admitted.
Obviously, being hospitalized there is no way you will be able to make your flight. The tickets are non refundable and non changeable. You are out the money of your ticket and will have to purchase another one when you are well enough to return home. Or do you? If you have Medical Travel Insurance, the cancelation of your flight do to hospitalization could be canceled. Also the hospital stay itself would be covered as well.
If you do not get Medical Travel Insurance, you could live, or die, to regret it. There are so many expenses associated with a hospital stay or medical treatment outside your own country that it is better to be safe than sorry. Isn’t it?
